My wife found a good repelent with 0% deet called SHOOBUG it comes in 2 different scents... i think spice islands stinks but it has cinnamon in it (i guess). She also suggested insect bracelets, she said it worked good for the kid (but the kid didn't catch any fish) My suggestion is to drink alot... they might come once but they won't come back...if that doesn't work go with the wife thing. It may also depend on where you are fishing... let us know and we may be able to help you further. Good luck... get the big one.
