All summer in Kodiak is Good!
Posted by akflyfisher on Oct 10 2005
The time you go to Kodiak just depends on what species you are looking for and what river system you are going to fish.
I only have road system experience there but I caught dollies in may, reds in June and July, Pinks and chums in August, Silvers in September, steelhead in November.
I hear that kings are good in June but you got to fly our to the Karluk or Ayakulak (not sure on the spelling).
I feel that you need to be more specific with a guide on which species you want to target. He may also guide multiple rivers and take you to a different river for different species at different times of the year.
As for the the fishing being less productive every year, Kodiak had some pretty good flooding three years ago that has effected some of the runs.
My suggestion, do some research, rent a car, fish the road system, and save some money.
