Floridafisherman, I'm a few years older than you and a little bit lighter but not by much. I would go with some type of inflatable, they are considerably more stable than a canoe. A lot of people have died up here when their canoe turned over in the cold water that is in all our rivers. One young man told me he was flipped into the water so fast that he didn't have time to even realize what he was doing wrong. (He had a fish on at the time.)The cataraft would work well but any of the smaller inflatables will work.
