chum egg color, etc
Posted by George on Dec 10 2005
Agree with all the posts and most on here know way more than I. But, in all the waters I've been in that had chums- their egg color is orange and a bead about 8mm +/- is about right. Dollies, trout, grayling will tend to key on certain egg type, sizes, colors... but not always, so take an assortment. Also, chums are an interesting and great sport fish. If stripping (slow, short strips) a leech or similar pattern thru a hole with say silvers and chums mixed... after a while you can, most of the time, tell the difference in the take between the silvers and the chums. The chum's very hard, bony mouth along with its aggressive take feels different from most others. good luck!
