Good Fly Reel for Kings
Posted by wildwilltx on Dec 17 2005
I am moving up to Kenai in 6 weeks and just purchased a new King fly rod.  I fished the Kasilof for kings several times in 2003 and did well with my 8wt, but knew a little more rod would be better, especially if I am going to hit the Kenai much.  So, in hopes of a fun summer of fishing, when not at work, I purchased a 10wt.

Now I need a reel.  All my other reels are Abel, but with all my moving expenses, etc. I really do not need to drop the cash on another Abel Super.  Thought about getting the traditional spool for my Super 8, but would prefer a large arbor reel.  Any good suggestions?  I am looking for something with a good drag system that I can use the hell out of for years to come.

Thanks all.

Will
