Egg cure
Posted by alaskanfishguides on Dec 26 2005
buzby,

Here ya go... the guide's secret cure:

Buy a can of either Pro Cure or Pro Glo and follow the directions EXACTLY.  Keep your work area very clean and preserve/freeze the eggs promptly.

Believe it or not, the egg cure begins after landing the fish.  Very important: Bleed the fish immediately!  The blood left in the eggs will spoil the eggs.  Next, when you hit the beach, before cleaning and fileting the fish, get the eggs out and in a zip-lock and in a cooler.  Then, as soon as possible when you get home, start the curing process.

Hope that helps... works for me.  (not really a secret)

Good luck

Ed
