As a guide, you are not stepping on my toes at all.  But I have to reiterate Alaka Gray's statements that this is technically illegal, not only with the State of Alaska but also with the U.S. Coast Guard.  I watched a "guide" be pulled off the river with a boat load of folks and given a citation for not having the appropriate documents, like a Merchant Marine license, State of Alaska guide license, insurance and evidence of enrollment in a random drug testing program.

So, again, be very cautious about what you accept from friends and particularly from those whom you don't know.  Good luck.
