Most people swear by long stainless wire leaders (8-12 feet)and 12/0 hooks. Judging from what I have read you need a reel capable of holding at least 400 yards of line (600 is better)and it better have a good drag. I will buying a AVET 5/0 soon just for the task. Seems the most difficult aspect it to keep the shark from rolling and most people I talked to are not anchored when they hook up. This allows them to follow the shark.
