[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] ice spud Posted by Hickory on Mar 19 2006 You could go for the ice spud, or really a spud bar of any type i guess. Just remember you need to have the wrist rope on it or you will be buying another very soon. The ice spud is only going to save you 10-20$ over a good hand auger by my mental calculations! One of the other posts is very correct, you aren't going to break out holes frozen for a couple days very easily. Look at an 8" strikemaster at wally world or freddy's. I bet ya they will run 60-70$ compared to about a 50 ice spud. Then you get a clean hole every time. Blades will last you a long time if you stay away from rivers.
