I spent a few days in King Salmon in July last yea

And there was fishing to be had right near town, especially if you could get a ride/drive/boat to take you to rapids camp. I'm not so sure about the action in August though. George Riddle helped me out a lot in the planning of my trip (never met him, but got a lot of helpful and kind emails) and I bet he can get you pointed the right way too.
