pilots

I mean no disrespect to todays cubdriver, guide/pilots, and the air taxis who provide those type services. Those guys have polished
short takeoff and landing techniques to a high luster, another art
in and of its self. They have a lot of technology that guys didn't
have 30 plus years ago. I don't keep a list of who's who, but names
like Sam White, Archie Ferguson, the Wein Bros ( Wien ? ), Anderson and yes, Sheldon. Many more names that I don't know or remember. Those guys had no GPS, no reliable radio communication, navigational aids, weather reporting and forecasting,( weather predictions really don't seem anymore reliable than they it may have been then , ha, ha )were poor or nonexistent. No improved runways, with lights etc.I think its just an era that is gone.Like I said before, its not the same game. I offer a parallel comparison. If you've read Alaska/Yukon Trophies Won and Lost by P.O. Young, who among us has been on a hunting trip that can compare with that? That is adventure!
