dead sea scrolls

DEAD SEA SCROLLS? Sorry I just thought it was funny.
My opinion?
I have read few books that rate as well as the following:
The Manual for Successful Hunters, Tony Russ
Great basic information. A place to start, a foundation if you will. Easy reading, specific, relevant information on what works for him. I still found myself occassionally refering to this book to refresh ideas.
Sheep Hunting in Alaska, Tony Russ
A complete comprehensive guide to how he hunts sheep. A wealth of information on techniques, equiptment as well as sheep habits and habitat. Definatly "THIS" sheep hunter's bible.
The Brown & Grizzly Bear Hunter's Guide, Tony Russ
As complete and comprehensive guide to how he hunts bears. I have yet to find an author who writes so thoroughly about their subject. This book is full of practical information for hunting bears.
Just the right amount of technical know how mixed with tales of adventure.
Guns, Loads, and Hunting Tips, Bob Hagel
The Game Rifle, Bob Hagel
These two books are more hunting rifle/reloading related. However, Hagel too is very easy to read and tends to explain things in ways even the novice can understand. Hagel covers information on bullet design and performance, complete reloading and ballistics specifically pertaining to hunting. He also dispells the theroy of "overkill" and the "magic" shot.
I know there are many other books out there and am always on the prowl for a new read... I must admit that Russ' was one of the first authors I began to read pertaining to hunting. Not that his books are the "end all" to hunting but they are very comprehensive and thorough. Until he lets me down... "I'll dance with the one who brung ya." If you know what I mean...
