Jerkee,

      I own a Kifaru Marauder and use it for my day job and use a Kifaru Longhunter for my backpack hunts.  The military packs weigh a bunch more (within their respective sizes) than the hunting packs becasue they are made of a heavier, more durable material.  I absolutely love my Marauder (it has taken everything the desert has to offer so far) but it would be too heavy (in my opinion) for a hunting pack.  There is about 1 to 1.5 lbs. difference in weight between packs of simliar size.  Athough I wouldn't use a hunting pack for military use, I have no doubt that any pack in the Kifaru hunting line will be able to withstand any of the punishment that a hunt will provide.      

     Just something to consider.
