Ryan,

I have to disagree with Mike, I personally would stay away from hunting rivers that have been published. They'll likely be polluted with other hunters that have read the same publication.  More than likley you'll find crowded rivers with low game densities or very shy moose that are not using the river because of the increased boat traffic.  

Reading Larry Bartlett's book is a good start. Larry does a trip planner if you have the extra cash.  He knows some very good rivers that have not been hit by hunters. Last year we floated a river that has likey never seen another float hunter.  

Also, contact ADF&G. They know their stuff.  I've found that if you have a specific area or river in mind, they'll provide a lot more info. Another words, dont call them and ask "where's a good place to hunt". Good Luck
