A couple of us went up last August around the 23rd. We didnt even see our first animal until happy valley. I would use the suggestion and wait until you see a good number of animals. then walk in from there. It gets pretty flat after pump two but there is also some water here and there. We were at ps2 and you could see ones and twos out very far with a spotting scope. Good luck!
