I take my .375 H&H on roe´s...
Posted by Pigeon on Oct 03 2005
Well, even we are having no bears here in Germany, I also take my .375H&H for roe´s and pigs - much more than strange overkill, but I would like to get trained with this rifle and the best way is to use it. On the other hand I have shot 20mm groups on the rifle-range on the distance of 100m with it - so why should I take anything less? More than 120m shot will not be possible in the wood here.
And even when the .375 is not in use, I will take on of my .30-06 for that job, which is for roe´s also much more than overkill, but on pigs a clean job.

There are 3 situations I don´t want to get in:
1.) Have no rounds left
2.) Have my gun not at hand
3.) Have a gun, which is not "strong" enough for the situation

@doc: Well, I would at least take the .30-06 and if you take the .375 - don´t hear what other´s say... You are responsible for YOur life, for the shot´s you will do and even for any situation you are getting in - so be good prepared!

Best wishes
Klaus
