Flying NWA with guns
Posted by akgutpile on Oct 05 2005
I don't know if it is just me, but I am getting fed up with flying for my hunting trips to different states.  The airlines lower the baggage weight from 75# to 50# so now we have to get creative on our packing.  I will get my binoculars, spotting scope, knifes, bow and sometimes shotgun organized just right in my bow case.  The TSA agents, who I know don't hunt, are rooting thru the cases tossing stuff around, right in front of me. Then they don't let you come up and reorganize, they just jam the case shut saying they can't let you touch the baggage.
Aside frome all of that, I have been flying with NWA.  I flew from Denver to Minneapolis to Anchorage yesterday and in Minn.  not one but two seperate gun cases got lost.  Our cloths bags are fine but the guns are lost and they cannot tell us where they are at.  Today we were suppose to go black bear hunting to finish off the vacation and now we have to wait around for our guns.  When it comes to luggage they do not do crap for you, no vouchers, no miles, no reinbursment.                                                           Two years ago I went deer hunting in North Dakota and brought a black bear hide to get a rug made from a friend there and NWA's baggage handelers broke my baggage latch and lost my hide in Minneapolis for a day.  When it showed up in North Dak. I had to drive back 200 miles to pick it up and missed a day of deer hunting, no reinbursment.
These airlines and their customer service have completely gone downhill, you have to pay for your snacks now also. Can't wait to see it in another 5-10 years, probably have a toll lavatory.
