Sat phones revisited
Posted by Alasken on Oct 08 2005
In the FWIW catagory, as I know there is much in the archives on the subject, here is my personal experience with brand x (Gllobalstar) this year.

This year I was on the north side of the Brooks Range in August guiding a sheep hunt. My phone was as reliable as the Iridium phone my boss had. A common problem was both phones worked better in the morning. Evening time was a problem for both of us.
The rest of the season was in gmu 19. My phone worked every time I needed it.

With the plan Globalstar has for money per minute I still don't understand why Iridium is more popular. Check them both out. The Globalstar is a lot cheaper. But I use a Mac computer, so what do I know?

Ken
