"But I use a Mac computer, so what do I know?" IMHO, you know your computer sh^*!! Mac OS X is THE way to operate. Period. On the phones, I will have to check out GlobalStar. My Iridium, through Stratos, has changed their price plans this year so that it is now, well, in the STRATOSphere! Their shortest plan is 500 minutes at $750/yr. I have used my Irid from as far up as the Ivishak, off the Taylor, Valdez, Seward, etc, and it is generally very good. Winter is sometimes scratchy, esp if a storm is brewing.  j
