dogs

Depends on how much control you have on the dog and how you feel toward it.  If you let it wander and it picks a fight, then brings the bear back to camp, are you willing to shoot the dog rather than the bear?

Dogs are an important "early warning system" for bears in villages everywhere, as well as at fishing sites and some lodges.  They work really well if they are not allowed to run free.  If a dog causes problems and you don't tie it up, ship it out or shoot it, your neighbors are going to shoot it for you.

Similarly if you're on public land and the dog causes problems, the boys with badges will make your experience very expensive if your dog handling is outside regs.
