Can only speak to Iridium as that is all I've used. My job requires use sometimes 2-3 times a day, mainly from interior and east AK. The phone works but can take awhile. Cuts out at times and lacks voice modulation. I guess not the thing you'd want for calling 911 but most likely would save your bacon if need be
