Guide Tents AGAIN
Posted by Kusko on Oct 10 2005
I would stick with the Cabela's 6 man guide tent.  I've had mine for 6 years and it's never failed.  It has been up at a tundra lake for 30 straight days in September w/o a problem.  Out here in the Bethel, the wind blow's constantly.  I have the fiberglass poles and they have never broke even when the wind blew 50+.
One thing that is very important is tieing down every guy (sp?) out line.  Also, if you have any sort of a dip, crevice, willow bushes or spruce....utilize them to block the wind.  I have used 4 foot willows to block the wind with effectiveness.
I wouldn't recommend an Arctic Oven for fly out trips.  If you are going by boat or snowmachine, they are great, but not for airplanes.  They are way too heavy and bulky.
I have seen the bombsheiter in use and I really like the feature where you can set it up with the protection of the rainfly.  Pretty handy when it's pouring.
Good luck shopping and congrats on the bull.
