bear vs dog
Posted by JT on Oct 10 2005
On more than one occasion, dogs have "alerted" their owners to the presence of a bear, by being chased back to camp(bringing the bear with them). I know of two such events, one lead to the mauling of 2 BLM employees, both events ended with a dead bear. Also, a pair of coyotes will have NO trouble taking your dog, bark or not. Fact is, a dog is nice to have around and if obediant they can help out, just watch what's behind him when he comes back to camp....
