I've read all of the posts on this the last day or so and would just like to comment on a few things......

I can't afford a bush flight..........but you can spend five grand or more on an ATV?

I'm getting old and can't do it like I used to, I'm in my late 40s...cry me a river...I'm 55, two bad knees, getting over a broken foot and ankle that have had to be repaired twice.....I find a way to make my hunts happen....no, I can't do it like I used to, but who can? I would be embarassed to admit I need an ATV to get me where I need to go.

I just got back from a sheep hunt, such as it was.....no, no death march but I hiked into the area on a trail that was very easy to follow as it was widened by many ATVs.......anadromous fish stream crossings were deeper but still easy to follow from the ATV tracks that plowed the streams out.  Litter was everywhere......after a good ways, I just started back, just couldn't handle the beer bottles and crap along the trail and the improvised camp sites.....tracks going up the sides of the hills were great to look at and I'm sure someone thinks those high-marking trails will be beneficial to game allowing the game easier access to the areas.

I guess what bothers me most are the folks that want all outdoorsman to band together....one voice so to speak.....great idea.....allows those with little ethics to hide among the masses......can't see the forest for the trees sort of thing....hunters are afraid to clean their own house.  I could care less about the antis.....I'm more concerned about the non-hunters.....if it came to a vote today, and the nons voted against a referendum on whether or not we could hunt, period, we'd lose by a large margin.....think that's far fetched?  We've lost some referendums in some states already.....the antis may have started that, but the nons finished them.  Take a look at what you're doing as a hunter....in the future, it's going to make a difference....

I was pretty open-minded about motorized access in years past.....now, I'm not.....not even a little....I'd like to see tighter controls until some become responsible enough to do it themselves.
