Shawn, This post has trouble written all over it. Losing four caribou to spoilage is unacceptable! We Alaskans, and most hunters in general take wanton waste and spoilage very seriously, as does this state. Many on this site go as far as photoing, GPSing and scraping the kill down to the bone to be beyond reproach.
One has to question your hunting parties judgement taking additonal animals given the conditions! Its one thing to be pinned down with a few dead animals, but shooting more?! And it sounds like meat was left afield from your original post.  I don't know the possiblity of AK F+G contacting you, but I wouldnt be surprised if you got a call...
