[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] meat spoilage Posted by viktor on Oct 18 2005 Seldom do I complain but this situation truly irates me. I agree you owe it to the animal!!!!!!!!! If you kill it you eat it!! If you were able to save the cape you could have saved the meat!! Learn what you are doing before you pull the trigger!! Many of us have hunted for days and have turned down a shot because the conditions were not right. You failed to do this and thus you wasted a valuable resource. How is it going to make you feel looking at the rack and cape on your wall when you know that you just wasted the meat? This is virtually unaceptable, and I hope you have learned a valuable lesson. Think before you pull the trigger. Think about distance, weather, water, transportation, bugs, delays, and all of the other factors. This is what a true Alaskan hunter does. Anyone can just pull a trigger and leave it behind. It is obvious that you need more time in the wilderness to value the unique quality of Alaska game.
