I've had enough
Posted by bushrat on Oct 18 2005
Martentrapper,

The guy said he lost half his meat to spoilage. He basically admitted breaking the law. He named not only himself, but various air-taxis. Not only that, but he used the name of another air-taxi whose hunters lost all their meat. One has to wonder: why were the antlers even shipped out? Why would any ethical hunter not be pissed at this story? Just how much of this kind of wanton waste actually goes on? Why should not all of us be on the horn right now to Wildlife safeguard and turning this guy in?

I've flat out had it with wanton waste; it's one of my biggest pet peeves. It brings all hunters down. It changes the regs for the harder (bone-on requirement in many gmus)for the guys that DO take care of their meat. And here you are practically defending this kind of thing? "Your story sounds fine to me," were your words. Well this story DOES NOT AT ALL sound fine to me!!! You need to rethink your position on hunting ethics; either you have some, or you don't. Without the "ethics police," as you call them, I am afraid to think were we might be (and where we're heading) as a group with hunters like you who say this story sounds fine---no big deal guy, you lost half your meat to spoilage because the river came up. And then your party shot two more. This is supposed to be a good example to us all, one that we shouldn't raise our eyebrows to?

I'm disgusted.
Mark
