Hey Brian,

I'm 130 miles from the nearest village. Using solar power and battery bank, plus small genny in winter to power satellite internet connection. No phone, no electric, other than what we make ourselves. So...that's how we have internet and no freezer. We have a root cellar in the cabin for keeping vegis and stuff, have even built a permafrost cooler, but it didn't work well for keeping meat, too moist and moldy. So...we do as we were taught, hang the meat on the bone until it freezes solid. It's actually great for tenderizing the meat, though some I'm sure would find the smell a bit too powerful. I had to float out mid-august and then make my way to Eagle and then drive out to have a bothersome tooth pulled. On the way back to Eagle was when I was on the Taylor and met up with the atv guys.
