North Slope Meat Cache
Posted by John S on Oct 20 2005
Hello, I've read thru all the comments posted so far on this subject and would like to hear some more thoughts on a meat cache during a fly out to where there are NO trees.  Is Elevating with rocks the only way to go?  What about the tarp, I'm interested in some ideas for covering the game bags without making your own oven, when you don't have tree branches available.  What's the best way to hold the tarp off the meat in these conditions.  Weight is ALWAYS a factor, so bring a meat cache tent isn't necessarily an option.

I never thought I'd post again after what's been happening here recently, but my interest got me suckered into this subject anyway.
