Tony its amazing how these animals can very so much.  One can tell just by the photos that you have odd genetics in that area.  Huge sweeping curls with large growth rings, and yet nine, ten years or more to attain full curl--no doubt due to the sweeping depth of the horn.  I talked to a guy this year who took a 40'' ram in unit 11 (3/4 curl legal area) it was not full curl--it was 11-12 years old. He never knew what he had until he measured it.
On the contrary, I know the area I hunt has many 7 1/2 y.o. full curls with 30-31" horns.  And the Healy creek drainage is known for full curls that can be 6 1/2years old and be 26-29".  Its incredible the way it can all vary. It only adds to the frustration of the system, and the understanding needed to harvest a legal ram. It emphasizes the need for premium optics for certain.
