[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] Look at it this way Posted by PC on Oct 24 2005 You wounded and lost a fox and tried your best to recover the animal, you did your job. If you have ever hunted upland game birds and waterfowl you have wounded and lost many birds. You fire at a bird and it flies away, but it could have been hit with only one pellet in the body cavity which will fester and cause the birds death sometime later and you never know about it. The reason you did not know about it because there was no blood trail. When I was a young hunter I shot a duck and watched the duck dive under the water and disappeared some days later hunting in the same place there was a decaying duck washed up on the shore. I have since learn that mallards when wounded will dive under the water and grab a stick with there bills and drown. Previous: My story...
