[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] Cutco Posted by Lone Wolf1 on Nov 04 2005 I'm a terrible knife sharpener, so my wife bought a couple of Cutco drop point knives for one of our bear hunts. As unbelievable as it seems, we've subsequently skinned/boned out five bears and a moose without having to sharpen them. The knives are a little pricey, but IMO worth every penny. I think they come with a free factory sharpening guarantee, but I haven't used that option yet, so I'm not sure. I also recommend that whatever you buy, stay away from camo or OD green handles. "Camo" looks cool on the display rack in the store, but the bright "hunter orange" handles are a lot easier to keep track of in the field when butchering/skinning. I've had friends lay their "camo" hunting knives down at a kill site and been unable to find them (one guy even kneeled down on his "camo" knife and cut his leg). Previous: Good point!
