[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] Beware the wolf in sheep's clothing Posted by Forestar on Nov 07 2005 The trem "conservtionist" has been hijacked. A real conservationist is one who believes in "wise use and management", not preservation, which is what most enviros who proclaim 'conservation' beleive. Human beings, and all animals, have an impact on their environment. For every breath of oxygen, there is a breath of carbon dioxide; accept it! We cannot continue our existence without impacts. But as long as what we we do does not preclude future generations from doing what they must to survive, we are practicing conservation in the truest sense. This Backcountry group may be a worthwhile organization, but at first blush it sure looks like another granola-eating, tree-hugging, elitist, stop-the-drilling group.
