Anchorage
Posted by Jeff Varvil on Nov 10 2005
Im a newby at only 14 years in the great state. I dont agree with the post that Anchorage is "no Fun" As that depends on what fun is to you. Anchorage definately has the jobs and that is a fact. Go to ADN.com which is the Anchorage daily news and look at all the job posts. On any given day it may contain 2oo jobs. Coming from a small town that was the size of our old paper. It took me only 24 hours to land my first job dancing at a night club with strahan. Oh the memories....
As far as Fun goes, again Anchorage has the Movie theaters at least 6, concerts, pro  and college hockey, museums, clubs, bike paths ect. It also offers two major salmon streams in town. A local ski slope and a major one only 15 minutes down the road.
Fairbanks has, ahh, Santa.....and his -50 plug in posts for his sleigh.

The fishing is incredible whereever you go if your coming from outside. Everything is relative, kinda like Sutton. (inside joke)
The  hunting in Ak is a bougar period. There are great local hunts but you have to go out and investigate. We hunt within an hour drive of Anchorage and take moose out every other year if were lucky. Grouse, bear and small game are a breeze. Just park your rig and walk.
Good luck
Varvs
