unexpected boot surprise...
Posted by fullkurl on Nov 14 2005
I have had about every boot out there--except Miendls.  The pair of M's I tried on were just too narrow--even in their widest size. Most boots have lasted me a max of three years--pretty sad really for the expense involved.
After wearing out Danner, LaCrosse, Wolverine and other boots, and being very disappointed in all of them, I went to the outfitter here in Fairbanks and the salesman asked me to try on his Carhart  #3925 models made by Redwing for $150. I said not NO, but "Heck NO!" After all, I told him, I'm hunting sheep and goat...He said "give 'em a try, you'll really like them". I said Okay.
Well, all laughter aside, they're simply the most comfortable boots I've had.  They are light, extremely waterproof, and warm.
I bought them for my wide feet and sore bunion and after about 40 total hiking miles this fall I've been totally and pleasantly surprised. Even on very wet Kodiak not a drop of wetness on the socks. And they show no signs of wear at all.
After years of filling a gear list with quality, and usually costly gear, these boots were a nice surprise.
