Tradbow, i experienced the exact same thing with those boots on a sheep hunt in '95, sent them back for another pair and they did the same thing as before. I have also tried everything from Herman Survivors to Danners and nothing holds up, my next pair will be a pair of Lowa's Sheep Hunter boots, i wear their ankle high hiking boots on hikes through the Chugach and they are very comfortable and repel water better than my Danners ever did.
