Bacon fat
Posted by AkHunter45 on Nov 21 2005
Burn some bacon fat in a small pan until it is all gone. You will also be able to tell which way the wind is blowing and that should indicate which way the bears will come in, thought they are bears and can be very unpredictable. We use to save the skin and heads from our salmon, heads from moose, and other unedible animal parts in a barrel over the winter, come spring time it would get very ripe. We would scoop it into burlap bags and drag it around our bait site probably 500 yards or more. We never seemed to have a shortage of bears on our bait sites.
