First of all if you are both carrying 300 RUM's I dont know why you would think that a 44 is going to anything for you other than weigh you down, the 44 is strictly a mythical sense of confidence if you have a bear encounter, and I say if because I live here and spend a lot of time looking for grizzlies when the seasons are open and although our state has many you are not going to see them 95% of the time and the other 5% of the time you may see one at longer distances than would really be of any concern, however if you did have an encounter the 300 RUM is going to be far more effective than any 44. As for pepper spray I would stick to the 300 RUM if the need calls for you to do anything at effective pepper spray distance the 300 RUM is going to work far better. In my opinion be thankful if you even get to see a grizzly at 10 yards or at 1/2 mile you probably will not see one at any distance. As for the outfitter question there are many options similar to what you mentioned,if you own all neccessary equipment you might be more interested in an air taxi service that will drop you off in a predetermined area and pick you back up. As for maximum weights the charter will take that will depend on the type of aircraft used and most air taxi services have a variety of aircraft from a cub to an otter but it will cost you. Also keep in mind the weights for meat, hide and or skulls for your trip out that will get even more expensive as it may take 3 or more trips to get 2 moose and hunters + gear out of the bush in a cub. Just make sure you have it all figured out and lastly get a sat phone for your trip to make sure if you need help,or taken out early it can happen.
