Ken,

My info came directly from Globalstar as well.  I spoke to them at the national Safari Club convention in Reno last January and they said that their coverage in Alaska was poor.  This echoes what I'm hearing from a lot of folks up here compared to the Irridium system.  That said, there ARE some areas in Alaska that seem to pick up Globalstar better than others, but as a general rule Irridium is the top dog right now.  That may change with the Wasilla project though.  Remains to be seen.

I'll be speaking at the SCI national convention again in January; I intend to look the Globalstar folks up again at that time for an update.  I'll post any changes I hear about.
