Southeast

Southeast Alaska has the largest blacks, and certainly plenty of them. You'll find great numbers in other parts of Alaska, but I'm pretty sure that the biggest ones are in Southeast. They have a richer diet down there and (I think) a somewhat shorter hibernation, thus a longer growing season.

Perhaps someone that has hunted down there can add some details?
