Great topic-Excellent post!
Posted by Byron_Lamb on Dec 06 2005
Greetings Mike,

Good job on tackling what some folks think of as a "tough topic" to openly talk about.

Personally, and with my guide service, we operate on self-imposed "regulations" that we're comfortable with. The self-imposed rules that we follow could be called our values, or hunting ethic's.

Interestingly enough the last I read about this subject, on this website, I remember one posting where the fellow said he thought the ultimate demise to modern Sport Hunting as we know it today, would occur because of fighting amoung ourselves.
That posting stuck with me like heavy gravy on a sour-dough bisket. He may be right. I hope not!

I'm of the belief that we already have to many rules & regulations, heck a lot of them can't even be enforced. However on the other side, there always seems to be a minority of people that just can't seem to do the right thing, therefore we're always making new rules.
That said, we have to keep up with the times; which means we have to continously make new rules, or adjust the ones already on the books.

Once again, great posting/topic. I'll be reading this one throughly as it grows........

Good Hunting...>Byron Lamb
