MEAT DISPOSAL??????
Posted by AK-HUNT on Dec 07 2005
I want to make sure I have this straight, Cornerstone.  Are you saying that if there were not salvage laws in effect, you would have left "several" caribou your party shot to the bears and fox??????  I hope I just misread your post.  BUT if that was the intent, then you would be the kind of person the laws were made to protect us and the critters from.  That is a complete lack of respect for the game.
On a side note I know of one individual in another state who shoots a deer out of season at times (poaching).  This you say you despise, but at least he does it because he is extremely poor and feeds his boys with it.  I don't agree with it, but have ALOT more respect for him than someone who would think about leaving ANY meat for the foxes and bears.
Again, I probably misread your post but the title really catches one's attention.  (Disposal?)  If I did then set me straight and I apologize too.

P.S.  The rest of this thread makes me proud to be part of the group.  I am glad I share the woods here with folks who have the same passion for the sport and respect for the animals I do.  Byron's post about his respect/sorrow/excitement of a kill is a good one.  I feel the same.
