  Everyone wants to go until they find out it is not a free ride.  I have a boat and have the same problem with fishing.  When they figure out it is going to cost them more than $20 for fuel, they don't want to go.
  As for the WIFE, I have learned it is better to tell her you are going and not ask if you can go.  Once they figure they have a little say in it, they will think they have a lot of say in it...
