I hear that story all the time about bears being habituated to gun shots and coming to get your deer, that might happen occasionally but it's not the norm. I've hunted there before, killed deer and missed deer and goats, did a bear come runnnig to claim the kill?? No, the only time i saw bears was traveling through the hunting area looking for deer and goats. Personally, I believe the Kodiak " bear dinner bell" thing is a myth. Sorry to get off topic.
