Posted by jpost on Dec 07 2005 I struggle with the fact that hunters are only required to take the skull and hide from bears, except spring black bear. So somehow, somewhere all the justifications, ethics, and reasons we (ADFG and hunters) use in support of salvaging game meat goes out the window! To shoot a grizzly taking only the skull and hide is totally legal yet to harvest a moose taking only the skull and hide is illegal. You guys ever ponder on that one? Just so you know, I have taken both a grizz and a moose and salvaged the required portions. It's something to think about and I am curious to hear your reasoning for why we can totally disregard meat salvage on one big game animal and not on others.
