Actually, I think he was overcompensating for being henpecked at home, but that's another story!  I told him he was crazy for doing that, and he just looked at me with a silly grin and said, "You think so?".  Yup.  I think so.  Not enough marbles in the sack.

You painted a good word picture of that bear standing on the peak.  I saw my first grizzly from the window of a Super Cub up off the Nimiuktuk River in Unit 23 many years ago.  He was doing the same thing.  We flew through a saddle and he was sitting there on his rear end, the wind rippling his hair as he surveyed his domain.  I'll never forget it.
