Does it say that the meat is unedible in the regs? From what i can remember it only tells you what you have to harvest, skull and hide. Black bears have the parasite too but people still eat them. The parasite can killed by completely cooking the meat all the way through so i don't think the parasite has anything to do with it. Anything can be made edible with the right seasonings!!
