Good Swimmer

Michael,

First - glad to see you post, I'm a fan!

The AK trip will be with a friend, second raft is an Aire "Traveler".  Overall your numbers are good, I'd cut them down just a bit as I've spent years back pack hunting & packing elk out on horses.  I'm not the type of hunter that takes the kitchen sink, nor do I need one:)

Moose=500 lbs. of bagged meat, antlers and cape (we will only take 1 moose per trip)
2 Hunters = 420 lbs.
Food=80 lbs. +/-
Gear=120 lbs.
Frame and rigging=100 lbs. minimum?
Accessories; repair kit, pumps, dry bags, etc.= 80 lbs. +/-
Total +/- 1300

Ocelot 980 lbs
Traveler 750 lbs
Total +/- 1730

I haven't picked up my cat yet, can I make the Ocelot & Traveler work for 2 people?  Target rivers are smaller, that may require some portage.  I wanted something I can pick up and move if necessary.

Again, most of the rivers in UT, ID, MT, CO are smaller by AK standards, and are often floated by very small rigs.  The rest of the year, I'll be fishing anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion on frames, I've read allot of good about Alaska Raft and Kayak, however, not sure what you mean "ARK's frames are built specifically for Alaska conditions"?  I would think class water is class water in AK or ID.  I've looked at several custom aluminum frame shops, thus why I posted to see some of the rigs others have done.
