Done it twice in Jan. and Feb.
Last year I came up in January...the roads were great until I got to Regina...roads were ICE from there all the way to Palmer Ak.
Pure Ice...
Lots of trucks in the ditch, driving to fast...But it was a great trip.
Drove slow pulling a trailer with most of my stuff...weight just over 7000 lbs.
Pick up a set of chains and you should be fine...I didn't...wished I had often.
Watch out for the buffalo up in theUkon and upper BC.
Put everything you can on your credit card...let them do the exchange for you...they sill.
Carry lots of extra cas cans...lots of the stations on the northern half are seasonal...
I caried a 100 gal. fuel pod and I could travel for days without stopping.
Days are short so plan on driving in the dark...try to do it on a full moon.
Moose are hard to see in the dark.
Had lots of encounters with them.
I enjoyed it every time.
