Rob,

Thanks for asking.

I sincerely apologize for the delays in getting this thing onto the shelf; many of the reasons have to do with my own deficiencies, plus a couple of major delays of a personal nature.  Regrettably, there's not a lot I can say about the timing of its release other than saying it will be out in time to use in planning a 2006 float hunt.  I don't know the exact dates; that's the way it is when you work with a publishing firm.  If I took the easier path of publishing it myself, I could tell you exactly when; in fact, it would have been out long ago; my final draft was completed seventeen months ago.  These things take time, but I believe the results will be worth the wait.

In a way I'm grateful for the delay, because if it were out already, I'd be accused that much sooner of destroying hunting in Alaska.  There are a few folks out there who believe that providing information on hunting areas is a bad thing, though they themselves have been beneficiaries of such provision in the past.

If someone wants to start a thread on this, I'd be happy to participate as long as it doesn't become personal.  I welcome a healthy discussion on the wisdom of providing information for hunters.

Regards,

-Mike
